As we are assigned to Indonesia for the SEA Teachers Exchange Program, our schedule to depart for Jakarta is on January 20, 2019 at 8:35 pm (GMT +8, Manila time) As agreed in out final meeting before going, we met at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 at 5:00 pm for our scheduled check-in. Together with fellow SEA Teachers Participants from the Philippine Normal University (PNU) Manila – Ralph Benjo Azas, Katrine Casin, Kathleen Rose Kadano and Ma. Clarisse Peleo, and our chaperone, Dr. Ma. Jhona Acuña, we entered the premises for the immigration and waited for our boarding time. During this time, we were able to ate our dinner and explore the airport.
As the time of the boarding arrives after we waited for two (2) hours, we discovered our sitting assignment was close to each other, with Katrine and Clarisse as my seatmates and Ralph at our front. Meanwhile, Dr. Acuña and Kathleen were on one of the front rows of the airplane.
Excitement and nervousness arise because this is our first trip outside of out country. As the airplane made its way to Jakarta, we were able to be amazed of the view of land through its lights, especially in the time when the plan will arrive at Jakarta.
After passing through the immigration at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3, we were fetched by Mr. Cahya Komara, Coordinator for the SEA Teachers Project from Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA (UHAMKA). The airport was named after the first president and vice-president of Indonesia. Also, with us are the students from Mariano Marcos State University – Twinkle Joy Bautista, Samantha Nicole Tagari and Jessa Mae Banquirig.
We traveled from the airport to the hostel using the coaster of UHAMKA. During the travel, we were able to see the different sights in Jakarta and amazed of the highway that they have. As we arrived at the Airy Hostel in Jakarta Timur, we were able to fix our things and rest for our activities.
