We were scheduled to have an orientation at our host university, Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA (UHAMKA) at 11:00 am. We were fetched per batch by Mr. Cahya Komara and during our travel to the university with Dr. Ma. Jhona Acuña and Ralph Benjo Azas, we were able to witness a glimpse of the daily lives of Indonesians. We were also able to talk to Mr. Cahya and discovered that teachers hold a significant role in shaping the Indonesian society as the qualifications to become one must adhere to the highest standards and expectations.
While we are waiting for the others to come, we were able to talk to Mr. Purnama Syae Purrohman, the Head of Cooperation and International Relation Office of UHAMKA, and talked about education and suggestions that we can do during our stay in Indonesia. After we had lunch, Dr. Acuña, Kathleen Rose Kadano, Ma. Clarisse Peleo and Katrine Casin were fetched by the service of Universitas Pakuan.
Meanwhile, Ralph and I, together with Twinkle Joy Bautista, Samantha Nicole Tagari and Jessa Mae Banquirig was toured by Mr. Cahya around the campus where we saw the efforts of the university to provide the resources needed for the betterment of the education they provide. They also make sure that they adhere to the national standards for the development of the students.
We were amused of what we saw and felt the excitement to start the program. As we are being scheduled to move to our respective residences for the program the following day, we were able to stay for one more night at the hostel. As the time goes by, worries arise of what will be our life in our residences, but despite these, we felt excited of what we will be going to do for the next days, because we are also scheduled to go to our school tomorrow.
