Our schedule to go to the school where we will be teaching during the course of the program was cancelled due to the bad weather on this day, January 22, 2019. However, Mr. Cahya fetched us from the hostel, together with our things, to UHAMKA where we waited for our move to the homestay where we met Dinda Asyifa, one of the assigned student-buddies. Meanwhile, the students from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) already went to their residence at the hostel of the university.
Our homestay consumes almost one (1) hour of travel from UHAMKA. It still in Jakarta Timur and is near to the school where Ralph and I are going to teach. As we reached our homestay, we met Jenny Padeway, Ma. Lourdes Heyres and Karen Tino who are residing for already two (2) weeks because they started the program earlier. They are also teaching at the school.

After we fixed out things, we were asked to go and eat at McDonalds with Mr. Cahya and the three (3) girls where we were able to know each other. This had made me comfortable as I am staying in the country for three (3) days, and they were able to make me feel at home again. After that, we were able to shop for our supplies at a nearby supermarket and eat bakso shabu-shabu at the house of Jenny’s mentor, Ibu Titik.
